Research activities

The main research area of ​​the department “Automation and cybersecurity of power systems” is the development of priority areas of digital energy. Fundamental scientific research was conducted on this topic with the participation of scientific and pedagogical staff of the department and the following theoretical and practical results were obtained.

    1. A universal method of improving the quality parameters of power supply by using the method of acoustic determination of parameters has been developed and applied, which allowed to use galvanically interrupted methods of monitoring the condition of electric power equipment;
    2. A method was developed and applied to determine the presence of corona discharge by conducting acoustic monitoring followed by spectral analysis of acoustic noise and determining spectral groups belonging to corona discharge, which allowed to determine the presence of corona discharge under different weather conditions and at different times of the day. >
    3. Practical significance for instrument making are approaches and recommendations for building models and plans of measured complexes and conducting on their basis hardware monitoring and diagnostics of power supply system, in the form of software package, as well as in the form of developed technical devices or their components. create devices for acoustic diagnostics of the power supply system.
    4. Solved the practical problem of automating the procedure for determining the presence of corona discharge at any time of day in any weather conditions.
    5. It is proposed to introduce a spectral acoustic method for use in streaming monitoring systems Smart Grid technology. That is, the presence of the corona discharge is recorded by devices of wide application. Thus, the number of diagnostic equipment is significantly increased, which allows you to move to the observed parameters of power lines to flow observations. This solution, combined with technical measures, can ultimately significantly improve the quality of electricity.
