Participation in international projects and programs is an element of the internationalization strategy of NTU “KPI”, and their implementation is an important factor in improving the quality of education and testing the postulates of the Bologna Declaration in practice. Every year, the university implements more than 70 educational and research international projects.
Since 2015, the university has actively joined the European Union’s ERASMUS+ program, direction CA1 (academic mobility). The program supports mobility, cooperation projects, partnerships, and activities in the fields of education, training, youth, and sports. Participation in the program is a great opportunity for students and academic staff to study or do an internship at the best universities in Europe, develop their skills, compare educational methods, become fluent in a foreign language, and gain invaluable life experience. The program is open to undergraduates (bachelors, starting from the second year of study, masters), postgraduates, teachers and administrative staff. Participants receive financial support/scholarships that cover all transportation and accommodation costs abroad. The period of study abroad, as well as the credits received, must be recognized by the home university.
Currently, within the framework of this program, the university is implementing more than 40 ERASMUS+ projects of the CA1 direction of cooperation with leading European higher education institutions. 
The university actively participates in the implementation of projects of the EU ERASMUS+ program of the KA2 direction (capacity building in higher education), programs of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), other scientific and technical projects and programs within the framework of intergovernmental agreements.
The experience gained as a result of international projects is very interesting and sensitively affects all areas of life of NTU “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” and creates an international intellectual field of the university.
