Admission

The Department of Technical Electrochemistry at NTU “KhPI” invites you to apply for education.

Teaching is carried out by qualified teachers – 3 professors, doctors of technical sciences and 6 associate professors, candidates of technical sciences. The department is equipped with modern laboratory and research equipment, computer and multimedia technology. The department has bases for internships and future employment in state and private enterprises, research and design institutions.

Electroplating is a technology for applying protective, decorative, and functional coatings to industrial and household products. Electroplating can be used for decoration, corrosion protection, increasing hardness and wear resistance, and imparting optical properties. There are more than 100 enterprises in Kharkiv with electroplating workshops.

Electroplating with gold, rhodium, palladium, silver, and their alloys is used for the finishing of jewelry. It provides an attractive appearance, tones the surface, and creates color harmony, increasing hardness and corrosion resistance. Coatings are used both in the production of new products and for the restoration of antiques.

Chemical current sources are sources of electrical energy produced by converting chemical energy into electrical energy, consisting of one or more non-rechargeable primary cells or rechargeable secondary cells (batteries), including those integrated into industrial or household products. In other words, it is a technology for the creation and operation of galvanic batteries, accumulators, fuel cells, etc. Electrochemical technologies successfully compete with chemical and physical ones, so knowledge of electrochemistry is used not only in classical electrochemical industries (galvanic engineering, corrosion protection, battery production, synthesis of high-purity inorganic and organic substances), but also in the most modern technologies (nanotechnology, fuel cells, lithium batteries, conversion and storage of solar energy, etc.).

All interested students participate in the department’s research work (with the participation of international partners) and continue their studies in graduate and doctoral programs.

Electrical engineering, machine building, electronics, metallurgy, and other industries, as well as any chemical laboratory, cannot do without you!

You are needed in the jewelry and pharmaceutical industries and in the manufacture of medical instruments.

You can set up your own production, as many electrochemical technologies are autonomous and mobile and do not require significant capital investment!
