“Development of methods for applying protective coatings to power equipment of nuclear power plants”
Scientific adviser: s.s., Ph.D. Kanunnikova Nadiia Oleksandrivna
The project is focused on determining the optimal parameters of the processes of forming protective coatings on austenitic stainless steels that will have increased resistance to high-temperature corrosion in the coolant medium of the first and second circuits of VVER-1000 reactors, and on determining their composition and structure. The research covers the following areas: studying the kinetic regularities of coating formation and the effect of electrolysis modes on the properties of oxide films on stainless steel; analyzing the anodic behavior of chromium-containing oxide composites and developing new methods for voltammetric rapid analysis of their protective properties; studying the chemical and phase composition of the formed coatings and assessing the possibility of forming modified coatings by non-stationary electrolysis; conducting high-temperature corrosion tests on stainless steel.
A team of young scientists is working on the project, consisting of: 4 senior researchers, 1 junior researcher, 2 engineers, 1 graduate student, and 2 students.
Areas of research at the Department of Technical Electrochemistry:
– electrochemical formation of protective and functional coatings by metals, alloys and oxides;
