Nanotechnologies and Nanomaterials
The Department of Physics of Metals and Semiconductors conducts research on the use of nanomaterials in the following areas of application:
- X-ray optics, X-ray microscopy, X-ray spectral analysis
- IR optoelectronics
- Plasma diagnostics
- Thermoelectric converters
- Spintronics
- Astrophysics
Research is conducted with the following types of nanomaterials:
- Quasicrystalline thin film systems
- Multilayer periodic systems: Mo/Si, W/Si, Co/C, Sc/Si
- Systems from the following materials: PbS, PbSe, PbTe, SnTe, EuS, EuSe, EuTe
