On May 2, 2025, a career guidance event in the Open Air format took place in the village of Shcherbani in the Poltava region, organized by the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”. The Department of Electrical Insulation and Cable Engineering actively participated in this event. The event was held in the style of “Scientific Picnics with Polytech” — an open STEM festival that combines demonstrations, interactive activities, and live communication.

The Head of the Department, Oleksandr Kyessayev, prepared interactive demonstrations for the guests, presentations about modern materials, electrical insulation technologies, and the importance of quality cable equipment in critical infrastructure. Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about promising areas of study, scientific research, and career opportunities in the field of electrical engineering.

The event once again proved that promoting science and technology through live communication and practical activities is an effective way to interest young people in technical specialties.

On March 5, 2025, the Head of the Department of Electrical Insulation and Cable Engineering, Oleksandr Kyessayev, conducted an online career guidance meeting with students of the Dnipro Lyceum of Kamianske District. During the event, lyceum students were informed about the department’s specialties, training areas, and specifics of working in the field of electrical insulation materials, cable engineering, and high-voltage equipment. Students were presented with opportunities for internships, training, and subsequent employment, as well as prospects for development in this field in Ukraine and abroad.

Special attention was paid to the issue of admission to higher education institutions, particularly the specifics of taking the National Multi-subject Test (NMT), the list of subjects, and minimum passing scores.

The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere, with students actively asking questions and receiving useful advice for making an informed choice about their future profession.


On February 12, 2025, a career guidance meeting with applicants from the Malynivka community of Kharkiv region was held in an online live communication format.

As part of the event, the Head of the EICT Department, O.H. Kyessayev, introduced future applicants to the features of the specialty and educational program, important dates of the admission campaign, and the advantages of applying to our department. Applicants asked many questions about admission conditions, education, and employment opportunities. Special attention was paid to the period of choosing the fourth subject for the NMT and to the preparatory courses at NTU “KhPI”, which allow obtaining up to 10 additional competitive points.

On February 11, 2025, the EICT Department conducted an online career guidance meeting with students of Lyceum No. 3 of Okhtyrka City Council of Sumy Region. The event was organized to familiarize future applicants with educational opportunities and study prospects.

During the meeting, the Head of the Department, O.H. Kyessayev, provided detailed information about admission rules, features of the admission campaign, and specialties that applicants can choose. Special attention was paid to the opportunity to attend preparatory courses that will help students better prepare for admission and adapt to the educational process in higher education institutions.

For students of Cherkasy Specialized School I-III grades No. 28 named after T.H. Shevchenko of Cherkasy City Council, online career guidance events were held on February 4 and 5, 2025. The Head of the Department of Electrical Insulation and Cable Engineering, Associate Professor O.H. Kyessayev, introduced students to the opportunities for studying technical specialties and the prospects for developing the cable industry. During the event, students were able to get answers to current questions about their future profession and take a step toward making an informed career choice.

For students of Lyceum No. 5 named after R.K. Rapiy of Okhtyrka City Council of Sumy Region, an online career guidance event was held on January 17, 2025.

The event was organized by the Head of the Department of Electrical Insulation and Cable Engineering, Associate Professor O.H. Kyessayev, who told students about the opportunities to study technical specialties and the prospects of the cable industry. The online meeting was a great opportunity for students to get answers to questions about their future profession and take a step toward making an informed career choice.

On December 24, 2024, as part of the event “Department Live: 🎤Ask the Head!”, a meeting was held with graduates of Okhtyrka Secondary School I-III grades No. 5 named after R.K. Rapiy of Okhtyrka City Council of Sumy Region. Future graduates learned about the specifics of the specialty; department teachers told them about student life, both in terms of education and realizing their creative potential. The students also played a scientific quiz related to the EICT department’s scientific topics, received positive emotions, and gained new knowledge in electric power engineering and electrical engineering. At the end, students learned about the new admission conditions for the upcoming 2025 year. We look forward to new meetings!

 


On December 5, 2024, representatives of the EICT Department held a career guidance meeting with graduates of Kharkiv Lyceum No. 54.

The purpose of the event was to familiarize high school students with the possibilities of modern technical education and help them choose their future profession. The director of the lyceum, Dmytro Lapko, who actively promotes career guidance work and supports initiatives aimed at developing talented youth, was also present at the meeting. During the event, department teachers talked about the opportunities offered by the EICT Department, the advantages of studying, cooperation with leading companies, and employment opportunities. Students were able to learn about student projects and scientific achievements of the department. Such meetings are an important step in shaping the educational trajectory of future students, helping them consciously choose a field that will become the foundation of their professional development.

On November 27, 2024, a meeting was held with students of Kharkiv Lyceum No. 80. Department representatives told future applicants about the features of education, the unique advantages of the department, and the opportunities that open up for students.

Of particular interest to the lyceum students was the story of a graduate of School No. 80, now a first-year student of the department, Artem Rubtsov. He shared his first impressions of studying.

On November 18, 2024, department staff conducted an interesting and informative career guidance conversation with senior students of Kharkiv Gymnasium No. 101. During the conversation, students learned about promising professions in the field of cable engineering; innovations in the production and application of cables; environmental aspects of cable production and the latest electrical insulation materials.

This meeting gave young people a new perspective on professions that combine engineering, ecology, and modern technologies. Together we are building the future! 🚀


On November 7, 2024, an online meeting of graduates from “Chuhuiv Lyceum No. 6” with the Head of the EICT Department, Oleksandr Kyessayev, took place.

Graduates of Chuhuiv School No. 6 had a wonderful opportunity to talk with Oleksandr Kyessayev, Head of the Department of Electrical Insulation and Cable Engineering. At the meeting, Oleksandr Hennadiyovych explained the importance of power and optical cables in the modern world – they are the basis for stable energy supply and high-speed internet. In addition, he emphasized the promising nature of studying in the specialty “Electric Power Engineering”. The current demand for specialists in this field is constantly growing, and graduates of the department have the opportunity to build a career by developing new technologies for the future of energy. Studying in this specialty opens up opportunities to work on updating the energy infrastructure, creating more efficient and environmentally friendly energy supply systems.

On May 24, 2024, NTU “KhPI” visited Poltava! Dozens of teachers and hundreds of future polytechnics participated in the event organized at the Poltava Polytechnic Professional College!

The students were delighted because they were not only told and shown something scientific but also allowed to touch it. They gained new knowledge not only in chemistry and physics but also in optics! And after the practice, they moved on to theory – played a Kahoot quiz and received valuable prizes!

From the Department of “Electrical Insulation and Cable Engineering,” the Head of the Department, O.H. Kyessayev, familiarized visitors with the event. Students visually tried to weld optical fiber, gained new knowledge in electrical engineering materials, and also learned about the specifics of information transmission.

All participants, both teachers and students, as well as their teachers and parents, were absolutely delighted with this event and are eagerly looking forward to joining the ranks of Kharkiv polytechnics!


On the eve of Energy Day, December 21, 2023, a meeting of the EICT Department with graduates of Okhtyrka Secondary School I-III grades No. 5 named after R.K. Rapiy of Okhtyrka City Council of Sumy Region took place. Schoolchildren – residents of a small town, which is considered the “oil capital,” realize the potential importance of modern technologies and processes related to oil extraction, so during the presentation of the department, they were particularly interested in special cables for this industry. Teachers of the department showed applicants that by studying at the EEE Institute, they will be able to benefit their region and become catalysts for its further development.


A career guidance event with 11th-grade students of CE “Cherkasy Specialized School I-III grades No. 28 named after T.H. Shevchenko of Cherkasy City Council” and the staff of the Department of “Electrical Insulation and Cable Engineering” took place on December 12, 2023, and proved to be exciting and useful for all participants. The event took place in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, allowing each participant to freely exchange ideas and thoughts.

Department representatives shared information about educational programs, revealed prospects and opportunities for graduates. Students learned about the opportunity to participate in “Winter Holidays with Polytech.”


Energy today plays perhaps the most important role in the economy of our state. Ukraine has great industrial, technical, and scientific potential, many years of experience in the construction and safe operation of nuclear power plants, and the possibility of further development of the industry thanks to highly professional technical and engineering personnel. The training of such personnel is carried out at the EICT Department, which is part of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Energy, Electronics, and Electromechanics. At a meeting with graduates of CE “Chuhuiv Lyceum No. 5” of Chuhuiv City Council, Kharkiv Region on November 23, 2023, the Head of the Department spoke about the conditions of admission and features of education, opportunities for internships and practical training at enterprises and educational institutions in Ukraine and abroad. Students listened with interest to the report, played a Kahoot! quiz, and at the end shared their thoughts on why we need cables. We wish you success in passing the NMT and look forward to seeing you among the students of the EEE Institute!


Energy systems penetrate all spheres of modern life. Generation and supply of energy is one of the main drivers of processes and changes in the world of technology. It was about the prospects of studying in the field of energy that the Head of the EICT Department spoke at a meeting with students of Communal Institution “Kharkiv Lyceum No. 73 of Kharkiv City Council” on November 22. He said that modern computer equipment and multimedia equipment are used in the learning process, and together with leading manufacturers of cable and wire products, the department conducts many educational events that make the learning process more interesting. Department staff answered all questions from future applicants and their teachers. Students also enjoyed an interactive Kahoot quiz, where they learned a lot of new things from the interesting world of electric power engineering.


Symbolically, on November 17, International Students’ Day, teachers of the department at an online meeting with students of Dnipro Lyceum of Verkhnodniprovsk City Council presented up-to-date information about the prospects and opportunities that await them when entering and studying at NTU “KhPI”. The Head of the Department spoke about the “education – science – business” approach through the implementation of student internships and practical training, and the performance of scientific work. He also emphasized the demand for department graduates in the labor market in Ukraine and beyond.

Students actively communicated with department teachers and asked many questions about admission, preparatory courses, creative clubs, and sports sections. We look forward to seeing them among the friendly team of EEE Institute students!


Professional orientation is external help for a person to consciously choose their professional trajectory. By the time they finish school, children should, at a minimum, be aware of the variety of professional opportunities. On the eve of International Students’ Day, on November 16, 2023, the staff of the EICT Department conducted a career guidance event with students of Kharkiv Gymnasium No. 101 of Kharkiv City Council. Students listened with interest to the report of the Head of the Department and learned a lot of new information about cable lines, which are the most critical elements of the system of generation, transmission, and distribution of electrical energy and provide quality and uninterrupted power supply to consumers.


Despite the martial law in Ukraine, the teaching staff of the department tries to convey information about the admission campaign to potential applicants. On November 2, 2023, the Head of the Department, Ph.D., Associate Professor Oleksandr Kyessayev, conducted a meeting with students and the teaching staff of CE “Kharkiv Lyceum No. 28 of Kharkiv City Council” in the format of a zoom conference. He drew the attention of applicants to the main requirements for admission and focused on the educational program 141 “Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics,” outlining its uniqueness. During the meeting, future applicants were acquainted with the advantages of studying at the EEE Institute and received advice on forming motivation letters. The invariable conclusion of the meeting was the Kahoot! quiz.

 


On November 2, 2023, a meeting of students from CE “Chuhuiv Lyceum No. 6 named after three times Hero of the Soviet Union I.M. Kozhedub” with representatives of the EICT Department took place. The task of such meetings is to prepare future applicants for a well-founded choice of profession that satisfies both personal interests and social needs. During this event, students were given comprehensive answers to questions about the features of the admission campaign, education, and subsequent employment. Students had the opportunity to learn about academic mobility programs that allow them to visit leading educational institutions around the world. In conclusion, as is traditional – the Kahoot quiz “Interesting about cables and more!”

       

         


Even on weekends, we, as energy engineers, continue to charge our future applicants with positivity and new knowledge! Thus, on October 28, 2023, the first career guidance festival #EnergyFest was held. As part of the festival, students from several schools joined us in our bomb shelter. Students from Kharkiv and the region were able to get acquainted with the fascinating world of energy, electronics, and electromechanics, communicate with representatives of departments, and learn about admission rules. The Director of the EEE Institute gave a welcoming speech, revealing all the opportunities for our future students. Also, at the end of the event, students, their parents, and teachers played a quiz, and the winners received valuable prizes. We continue to charge our future energy engineers!

       

       

       

       

 


In the conditions of war, the prestige of specialists who will restore and rebuild Ukraine is growing. On October 19, high school students of Kharkiv Lyceum No. 54 of Kharkiv City Council had the opportunity to join a career guidance event conducted by the Department of Electrical Insulation and Cable Engineering of NTU “KhPI”. The lyceum students were told about the features of the educational process, the advantages and activities of Kharkiv Polytechnic, were presented with specialty 141 “Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics,” were told about the employment of students after obtaining higher education, and were invited to study at the preparatory courses of NTU “KhPI”.

Students participated in a “Kahoot!” quiz, receiving positive emotions and interesting and useful information to think about.

A career guidance meeting of 11th-grade students of Chuhuiv Lyceum No. 8 of Chuhuiv City Council, Kharkiv Region, with teachers and students of the Department of “Electrical Insulation and Cable Engineering” took place on October 12, 2023. As part of the meeting, the Head of the Department acquainted future applicants with the opportunity to undergo comprehensive pre-university preparation aimed at successfully passing the national multi-subject test.

Students were presented with specialty 141 “Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics,” for which training is conducted at the EEE Institute, and a “Kahoot!” quiz was conducted.

The meeting was interesting; the schoolchildren showed interest in studying at the EICT Department, asked many questions, and received comprehensive answers to them.

       


On September 27, 2023, a meeting of eleventh-grade classes of Chuhuiv Lyceum No. 1 with the Head of the Department of “Electrical Insulation and Cable Engineering” of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” took place. The meeting was dedicated to getting acquainted with the only department in Ukraine that trains highly qualified specialists in electrical insulation.

Kyessayev Oleksandr Hennadiyovych, Head of the Department, Ph.D., Associate Professor, delivered a detailed speech on the importance of using quality insulation, choosing conductive materials, and the overall significance of energy in today’s Ukraine.

Future graduates listened attentively to the speech, asked questions about taking the NMT and entering NTU “KhPI” next year. A quiz was also conducted, during which students answered interesting questions from the field of electric power engineering and gained new knowledge.

All participants of the event received pleasant impressions from the meeting, expressed a desire to hold more such events, and, if possible, to visit Kharkiv Polytechnic.
