Taking Engineering Education to 2030
Nobel Prize winner in Physics Murray Gell-Mann:
We need to move from the sage on the stage to the guide on the side
A good tradition at the department is conducting annual comprehensive interdisciplinary classes among bachelors and masters of the specialization under the guidance of Prof. Hanna Viktorivna Bezprozvannykh, with students defending collective and individual projects in the disciplines “Theory of Electromagnetic Fields in Electrical Insulation, Cable and Fiber Optic Engineering”, “Fundamentals of Fiber Optic Engineering: Communication Cables” and “Physical Foundations of Fiber Optic Engineering”. The works presented for defense are structurally and logically connected to each other: each subsequent one is based on the previous one and is a continuation and development at a higher theoretical level and practical implementation of the previous one, taking into account the disciplines taught in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th years of the specialization “Electrical Insulation, Cable and Fiber Optic Engineering”. This format of conducting the final interdisciplinary class among students of different years of the specialization ensures the formation of continuity, awareness of the significance of the specialization, and is a motivating factor for students to study. Individual assignments are a mandatory component of the diploma project for both bachelors and masters. Based on the results of the completed assignments, student activity during the execution stage and during the defense, the following students of the specialization received certificates signed by the Rector of NTU “KhPI” Prof. Sokol E.I.: Ishchenko Roman and Shuster Serhii – bachelors of group E-121k; Siyatovskyi Denys – bachelor of group E-120k; Bondar Yurii – master of group E-N123k.
