Media Group “Objective” has published material on the opening of the exhibition “Childless Childhood” in the Kharkiv Historical Museum named after Sumtsov in May 2018. The initiator of the exhibition is professor of the Department of Ethics, Aesthetics and History of Culture Mikhailo Krasikov, and it contains the works made by students of NTU “KhPI”.

The Department of Ethics, Aesthetics and History of Culture and the  Ethnographic museum “Slobozhansky Skarby” named after Hnat Khotkevych invite to the opening of the exhibition “Childless Childhood: 1941 – 1945″ on the results of the local lore competition. The exhibition includes the creative works of the students of the NTU” KhPI “.

Today, April 19, 2018, in the framework of the International Scientific and Theoretical Conference of Students and Postgraduates “Ukraine and the World: Humanitarian and Technical Elite and Social Progress”, the session of the section “Spiritual Culture of Ukraine: Traditions and Present” wtook place. The meeting was chaired by the head of the Department of Ethics, Aesthetics and History of Culture NTU “KhPI”, candidate of Philosophy Sciences, prof. Olena Oleksandrivna Petutina. The reports were delivered by students and students of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, and Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts. Each report was accompanied by a lively and constructive discussion.

On November 17, 2017 the fourth city scientific and practical seminar “Philosophy in the contemporary world” was held in NTU “KhPI”. This scientific event starts the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Department of Ethics, Aesthetics and the History of Culture. It will be followed by the festival “Art Way 2017” in December 2017.

Young Scientists Council of NTU “KhPI” reports the results of the project “Academic English” this year. Several young scholars of our University have successfully completed English for Academic Purposes training and received the certificates. The project aims to improve the level of English language proficiency among young scientists of NTU “KhPI”. This issue remains very important because a decent level of English allows us to keep abreast of the latest scientific achievements in the world, to publish the results of our own research abroad and to reach English speaking audience. We use English as a medium of instruction for different academic subjects to teach our students. A high level of English language proficiency also helps us to participate in international conferences and scientific cooperation programs all over the world.
The project of the Young Scientists Council “Academic English” includes an annual grant for young scholars to enhance their English language proficiency level. NTU “KhPI” provides a six-month English for Academic Purposes course for 3 groups of learners (up to 20 young scholars). Enrollment in the groups takes place on a competitive basis every autumn. Teachers of our University help them to achieve the B2 level of language proficiency within the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). This level is now a prerequisite for obtaining the academic rank of associate professor (docent) and professor.
At the meeting of the Academic Council on July, 7 the Rector of our University Yevgen Sokol gave thanks and awarded the certificates to all those who successfully passed the training and summative testing this year. The Young Scientists Council congratulates the participants of the project, our teachers Olena Goroshko and Olena Zemliakova and shares the joy of this glorious event with all of you! 

The Department of Ethics, Aesthetics and History of Culture is proud to inform that our colleague Maryna Mishenko is one of the participants of the project “Academic English” this year. 

On June 2, 2017, at the meeting of the Academic Council of NTU “KhPI”, two teachers of the Department of Ethics, Aesthetics and History of Culture were rewarded.

Associate Professor Mykhailo Krasikov received an honorary diploma of the rector for his high achievements in the research work of NTU “KhPI”.

Vasyl Malikov, an associate professor of the department, received a diploma for the victory in the competition “The best young scientist of NTU” KhPI “in 2017, section “Socio-political, natural sciences and humanities, sport and human health”, as well as the certificate of the rector for his high scientific and educational achievements and public activity.
