TransBaltica 2024

Employees of the department Assoc. Liliya Over’yanova and Yevhen Ryabov and applicants Nescheret Volodymyr, Ivanov Kostyantyn, Andriy Podolyak took part in 15th International Conference TRANSBALTICA 2024: Transportation Science and Technology September 19-20, 2024, Vilnius, Lithuania

The report “Equipping a suburban diesel train with a hybrid power plant” was presented

The study examines the use of an energy accumulator in the traction system of a diesel train with electric power transmission

Simulation of three options for the use of the accumulator was carried out and the impact on fuel consumption was determined

It was established that the energy stored in the on-board storage device is 25% of the energy spent on traction. Based on the results of the calculations, it was determined that when using the energy storage device, the reduction in fuel consumption is 22…28%. In the case of charging the plug-in energy storage system of the traction system, the cost of fuel and energy resources is reduced by 36.5…40.4%. Based on the results of the study, it is predicted that the use of a plug-in traction system is a priority on diesel trains that carry out suburban transportation
