International activity
Cooperation with “IBM Ukraine” LLC is carried out on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding between NTU “KhPI” and “IBM Ukraine” LLC, signed on November 29, 2010. From NTU “KhPI” the memorandum was signed by the rector of NTU “KhPI” Tovazhnyanskiy L.L. To fulfill the terms of the memorandum, the Academic Competence Center of the IBM operates on the basis of the department.
The main activities of this center are:
- participation in the IВМ Academic Initiative;
- development and introduction into the educational process of new academic disciplines using the ІВМ technology;
- development of educational and teaching materials using methodological approaches and IВМ technologies;
- training in modern information technologies ІВМ on the basis of open standards and open source software in the framework of educational and professional training programs, retraining and advanced training of specialists;
- providing advice to enterprises and organizations of the leading sectors of the Ukrainian economy on the development of projects in the field of information technology using IBM technologies;
- conducting regular seminars on the innovative activity of the IBM with the involvement of its employees;
- participation of students, postgraduates, teachers and employees of the University in competitions for grants held by the company ІВМ;
- conducting research on the topic of virtual organizations – a new form of organizing training and business;
- ensuring the participation of specialists and university students in the projects announced by the IBM.
The IBM Academic Initiative program provides for the introduction of information about IBM products into the educational process and scientific and applied research in the direction of optimizing software development processes. The staff of the department have received the IBM Faculty Award four times for the introduction of open standards and corporate technologies of IBM into the educational process.
As part of the work in this direction, educational and methodological materials for courses in the specialty “Consolidated Information” have been prepared, course programs and laboratory works have been developed that are associated with the use of software and technologies of IBM.
Within the framework of the program, the teachers of the department have the opportunity to raise their level at seminars and trainings from IBM.
In 2012, a postgraduate student of the department Korol O.I. completed an internship at the University of Leon 2 (France) on the basis of the Department of Informatics of Decision Making and Statistics in Management. Based on the results of the internship, a joint article was published jointly with representatives of the University of Leon 2.
Professor Soloshchuk M.N. is a member of the International Institute of Electrical and Electrical Engineers (IEEE) and is actively involved in the international exchange of knowledge and experience.
Cooperation with Analytical Technologies LLC (Russia) is carried out in accordance with the cooperation agreement between NTU KhPI and Analytical Technologies LLC dated 05.09.2011 No. 78/11. The purpose of the agreement is to train highly qualified specialists and scientific and pedagogical personnel in the field of data analysis and the development of partnerships.
Within the framework of the agreement, the Deductor Academic analytical platform is being introduced into training courses for the specialty “Consolidated Information” for training of masters.
