Science

The ITPA Department conducts scientific activities in the following areas:

  • energy and resource conservation in industrial production;
  • energy and resource efficiency of production equipment;
  • low-waste technologies;
  • integration of chemical and technological processes, pinch analysis and pinch design;
  • heat and mass transfer in complex industrial systems.

The faculty of the department is involved in the implementation of applied, fundamental and theoretical state budget, grant and initiative scientific topics.

The unity of educational and scientific processes provides a unique opportunity not only for postgraduate students, but also for those pursuing bachelor’s and master’s degrees – in particular, diploma students – to acquire the skills of a researcher when working on scientific projects, when preparing abstracts for reports of scientific and practical conferences and writing articles in co-authorship with lecturers.

In addition, the department supports scientific schools initiated by:

  • Prof. Tovazhnyanskyy L.L. – introduction of low-waste energy-saving technologies in the operation of chemical reactors;
  • Prof. Ved’ V.Ye. – ceramic contact heaters for intensification of heat exchange processes;
  • Prof. Kapustenko P.O. – use of highly efficient plate heat exchangers in the integration of chemical and technological processes.

Every year, the department organizes its own scientific and practical conference “Integrated Technologies and Energy Saving”, which is attended by many foreign scientists. The results of the conference are published in the scientific journal of the same name
