Head of the Department

Severyn Nadiia, PhD , Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Humanities.
She has been working at the department since 1979.
She teaches the following subjects: “Ukrainian as a Foreign Language” (RFL), “Culturology”.
In 1977 she graduated from G.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, specialty “The Russian Language and Literature”.
In 2008 she defended her thesis in specialty 09.00.12 – “The Ukrainian Studies, The Philosophical Science”.
She is the author of more than 140 scientific papers.
In 2019 Nadiia Severyn published a monograph “The adoption of Ukraine in European culture: comparative aspect”.

Research interests: Philology, methods of teaching Ukrainian as a Foreign Language, cross-cultural relations between Ukraine and Slavic peoples, Philosophy of Culture.

Teachers

RomanovYuriyRomanov Yuri A., PhD, Associate Professor.
He has been working at the department since 1990.
He teaches the discipline “English as a Foreign Language”; teaches trainees from Western Europe the following courses: “The Practice of Oral and Written Language” , “The Scientific Style of Speech (Economic Profile)”, “Ukrainian as a Foreign Language”.
In 1990 he graduated from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (Moscow) and was qualified as a philologist, a teacher of Russian as a Foreign Language, a translator from English into Russian (honours degree).
In 2003 he defended his thesis in specialty 10.01.02 – The Russian Literature. The thesis title: “The “Underground” in F.M. Dostoevsky’s Poetics: the Archetypal and Typological Phenomenon”.
He is the author of more than 150 scientific papers, 40 of which are the educational and methodical ones (5 are approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine). About 20 research papers are devoted to the problems of F.M. Dostoevsky’s works and published in the professional journals, both in Ukraine and abroad.
He is one of the authors of the teaching complex for the study of Russian as a foreign language “V Dobryi Put’!”, created as a joint project of NTU “KPI” and Humboldt University (Berlin).
He repeatedly went to University of Klagenfurt (Austria) with a group of Russian (RFL) teachers during the work at Summer Language School.
Research interests: theory and practice of text-books creation; interdisciplinary coordination; creation of translation dictionaries (Rus. / Ukr. / Eng.); Dostoevsky studies. He is a member of  International Dostoevsky Society (IDS).

Sukhanova Tetiana, PhD, Associate Professor.
She has been working at the department since 2021. She teaches the following subjects: “Ukrainian as a Foreign Language”, “English as a Foreign Language”
In 1994 she graduated from Kharkiv State University, specialty “The Russian Language and Literature”. In 2012 she graduated from V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, was qualified as philologist, a teacher of English. In 2004 she defended her thesis in specialty 10.02.02 – The Russian Language. The thesis title: “Mythological and Poetic Semantics in the Lyrical Poetry of A.A. Tarkovsky”.
She is the author of more than 70 scientific papers (articles, thesis reports, 2 copyright textbooks, 4 textbooks in co-authorship, 8 educational and methodical editions).
Research interests: Philology, methods of teaching Languages, texts semantics.

She has been working at the department since 1993.
She teaches the discipline “Ukrainian as a Foreign Language” (RFL).
In 1985 she graduated from V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, specialty “The Russian Language and Literature”, qualification: “philologist, teacher of the Russian Language and Literature”.
She is the co-author of the following text-books: “The Holidays of Ukraine”, “We Read Russian”, “Russian in Exercises”.
She worked for the Summer Language School (in cooperation with the University of Klagenfurt, Austria).

She has been working at the department since 1983.
She teaches the discipline “English as a Foreign Language”.
In 1983 she graduated from V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, specialty “The Russian Language and Literature. Russian as a Foreign Language”.

She has been working at the department since 1991.
She teaches the discipline “Ukrainian as a Foreign language”.

Myroshnichenko Maria Pavlovna, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Senior Teacher.
She has been working at the department since 2020. She teaches English. She taught Russian as a foreign language at KhNAHU, KhNMU and she taught Russian as a foreign language and English  at KhNU named after V.N. Karazin. She worked as a teacher of Russian as a foreign language abroad (in PRC) at the Xinchen Art School.
In 2008 she graduated from the faculty of Russian language, literature and English at KhNPU named after G.S. Skovorody, in 2013 she graduated from graduate school there and in 2014 she defended her thesis “Paradigmatic analysis of the vocabulary of the poems of Sergei Klychkov.”
She is the author of 13 works in DAK professional journals and co-author of 2 monographs.

Dmytryk Alina Yuriivna, Senior Teacher.
She has been working at the department since 2020. She teaches the discipline “The language of vocational education (English)”
In 2019 she graduated from “Kharkiv humanitarian-pedagogical academy”, qualification English teacher.
She is the author of more than 20 scientific works. She took part in 14 scientific conferences.

Kartun Nataliia Oleksandrivna, Senior Teacher.
She has been working at the department since 2021. She is the teacher of “The language of professional education (English)” course.
In 2012 graduated G.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University and obtained qualification “Philologist, English and Turkish teacher” (BA honours degree). In 2009 she completed practical language training during her internship in Turkey, Antalya. Participant of the English Language scientific and practical conferences. Took part in Turkish Language Olympiads in Kiev in 2012 (2nd place in «Presentation» nomination).
Research interests: philology, English teaching methods, Linguistics studies and studies in the field of teaching foreign languages.
