The department contents 13 teachers and six scientists, including 5 Professor, 4 associate professors, three senior lecturers (2 Dr. and 10 Candidate of technical sciences) and seven staff training – support staff. The department trains specialists and masters in “boilers and reactors ” and “The computer integrated technological processes and production”.
At the department to train more than 30 training courses. Each year, the department is trained on average 170 students . It is the base for the training of specialists for the CDB “Energoprogress” of “Kotloturboprom” (Kharkiv), CHAO HKP “Kotloenergoproekt” (Kharkiv), CHAO NTP “Kotloenergoprom” (Kharkiv)PJSC “PTP” Ukrenergochermet “(Kharkiv), PJSC” PTKI “Ukrkranenergo” (Kharkiv), PJSC “Kharkiv CHP-5” and a number of other plants. Graduates of the department are sent to work in the engineering design and industrial organizations in Ukraine and CIS countries many of them having much success. Famous graduates of the department occupy positions of responsibility in various areas of Energy of Ukraine, CIS and foreign countries.
Since 1999, started training in distance learning.
Under the leadership of prof. AV Efimov graduate students enrolled in the department of Ukraine and abroad.
The department has close ties with the largest technical universities in Russia, Poland, Germany, and Czech Republic.
Interests Research School faculty in the direction of improvement of technology design and operation of equipment for thermal and nuclear power plants and objective assessment of the need for increasing Ukraine’s energy capacity at the plant resulted in the need to open in 2001 at the main branch of the Department of Research Institute of the industry – the National Science Center “Kharkov physico- technical Institute”. Continued participation of leading researchers NSC “KhPTI” as a branch in the research department and the opportunity to use laboratory facilities of the Institute is a new form of organization of scientific, technological and innovation.
