Integrated Management – 2025

The XV International Scientific and Practical Conference “Integrated Strategic Management, Portfolio, Program, and Project Management” (Integrated Management – 2025) was held 11.02.2025 in a remote format.   The organizers of the event were NTU “KhPI,” the Ukrainian Project Management Association, the National University “Lviv Polytechnic,” the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, and the Azerbaijan Project Management Association. The conference has been initiated since 2010 by the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies (formerly the Department of Strategic Management).

This year, the conference was attended by 11 scientists from Azerbaijan, Benin, Bulgaria, Turkey, Japan, and 70 scholars and specialists from Ukraine. The conference was conducted entirely in English. The conference was opened by the rector of NTU “KhPI,” Prof. Y. Sokol. In his speech, he emphasized that the idea of the conference—achieving a synergetic effect from four powerful fields of management science—is still relevant today. He expressed hope that the scientists would contribute to the defense and development of our country.

Professor Hiroshi Tanaka, the founder and former president of the Project Management Association of Japan, actively participated in the conference. In 2009, Professor Hiroshi Tanaka, together with the President of the Ukrainian Project Management Association, Professor S. D. Bushuyev, conducted training sessions for faculty and students at our university. In his presentation at the conference, Professor Tanaka discussed the peculiarities of project management in the green economy, highlighting how it differs from traditional projects and how project modeling in the green economy should be approached.

Professor Çetin Elmas, President of the Industrial Artificial Intelligence Association (Turkey), delivered a report titled “Application of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Project Management.” Professor S. D. Bushuyev, in his presentation “How to Change the Landscape of Strategic Management in the Age of Artificial Intelligence?”, continued this topic. The President of the Azerbaijan Project Management Association, Professor Iqbal Babayev, along with his colleagues, presented a paper titled “Managing Investment Projects in Conditions of Uncertainty.”

The Director of the Entrepreneurship Institute at the University of National and World Economy, Dr. Kostadin Kolarov (Bulgaria), presented on the relevant topic for Ukraine: “Knowledge and Technology Transfer from Universities to Business in Bulgaria: Current Status, Problems, and Possible Solutions.”

Professor Ihor Kononenko from the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies at NTU “KhPI” presented a joint work with colleagues from Ukraine and Azerbaijan, titled “Formalization of Project Team Formation Considering the Roles that Its Members Can Perform.”

The Head of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technologies at Kharkiv National University of Urban Economy named after O.M. Beketov, Professor M. Novozhilova, spoke about planning green spaces in modern cities as an integral part of sustainable urban development.

At the conference, Dr. M. Kpodjedo, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Benin on Information Technologies and a graduate of our university’s postgraduate program, gave a presentation on the specifics of managing projects, programs, and project portfolios in his country.

The conference also featured presentations from postgraduate students of the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies, including O. Lysenko, V. Malyarenko, and M. Shaposhnikov.

Before the war, the “Integrated Management” conference was held in one of the picturesque locations in the Ukrainian Carpathians. In 2014, the conference took place in Bansko (Bulgaria) with the active participation of Prof. K. Todorov, Vice President of the European Council for Small Business in Bulgaria (ECSB), and Associate Professor K. Kolarov (University of National and World Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria).
