OUR SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGY WORK LEVEL AS YOUR POTENTIAL FOR FURTHER DEVELOPMENT

The choice of a higher education establishment as well as one’s future specialty is a very complicated and utterly difficult problem within the context of defining vectors and dynamics of a personality’s development.

Quite often applicants and their parents pay attention to a higher education institution’s traditions and its links with practical sector of economy. Some study universities’ international and national ratings, trying to compare potentials of certain higher education institutions. Each of these methods has certainly some advantages and ensures obtaining necessary information. At the same time, quality of higher education is defined, among other things, by the level of scientific and methodological work performed by professorial and teaching staff of a higher education institution and its structural units. In this respect, the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Social Systems Management after academician I.A. Ziazyun is one of the most significant units not only within the NTU “KhPI”, but also among scientific community of Kharkov region which is, by the way, quite rightfully considered to be an intellectual centre of Ukraine.

Among the latest and the most prominent scientific and methodological achievements of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Social Systems Management after academician I.A. Ziazyun is successful participation of its professorial and teaching staff in implementation of the Tempus project “Education for Leadership, Intelligency, and Talent Evolvement, ELITE”. As regarded by the Kaunas Technical University (Lithuania), the Project grant holder, it is the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Social Systems Management after academician I.A. Ziazyun at NTU “KhPI” that has demonstrated one of the highest results. It is quite evident that the results obtained have been possible as a result of the department’s teaching staff’s realizing their personal professional abilities and considerable organizing potential of this structural unit.

Among scientific and methodological results of the department’s many-years’ activity, special attention should be paid to its scientific journals, among which the scientific-and-practical journal “Theory and Practice of Social Systems Management” (Ukrainian acronym The TiPUSS) has won acclaim of not only regional scientists, but also of those far beyond.

Nowadays The TiPUSS is an established rostrum for presenting to scientific community the research results for scientists from Byelarus, Bulgaria, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Romania, Ukraine, Finland, France. Every year the journal’s editorial board remarks on readers’ increasing interest to scientific publications presented in The TiPUSS. This fact is connected primarily with the strict selection and editing procedures that articles to be published undergo; thus the readers have a possibility to get acquainted with only quality publications. High quality of the journal’s publications has given grounds for the increase of The TiPUSS rating at national and international bibliometric platforms. For instance, one of the best-known bibliometric platforms, Google Scholar, when indexing Ukraine’s scientific publications, compiled the rating (June, 2017) of scientific journals. According to this rating, The TiPUSS took the 38th position among 100 best editions of Ukraine. (https://scholar.google.com.ua/citations?view_op=top_venues&hl=en&vq=uk).

The journal demonstrates h5-index to be at level 8, and h5-median to reach 18. By the last criterion the journal takes the honorable 10th position. Apart from this, The TiPUSS was included in the “ICI Journals Master List” (Copernicus Index) with 52.09 index. Such index positions it on 270th position among 602 Ukrainian journals which have proved their capacity to be included into this reputable scientific database. The Coordination Council and the Editorial Board of The TiPUSS are proud with the achieved result.

To return to the problem of education’s quality, precisely to its characteristic which is viewed through the prism of scientific-and-methodological work, we consider it appropriate to draw attention to the fact that every issue of the The TiPUSS consists traditionally by more than one third of scientific articles submitted by teaching staff of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Social Systems Management after academician I.A. Ziazyun. In other words, the level of the department’s professorial and teaching staff not only corresponds to the rigorous international standards set forward to certain types of publications, but also enables us to assert a considerable contribution of the department members to the presented above achievements of The TiPUSS. It is obvious that scientific publications by the department members and their level are only indirect evidence of the professorial and teaching staff, although this indicator alone attests most convincingly to the department’s possibilities regarding productive knowledge and their efficiency at passing it to students.
