Graduates of the Department of “Occupational Safety and Environment” NTU “KhPI” will be able to successfully work in Ukraine in the primary positions of occupational safety specialists at industrial enterprises of all forms of ownership, in the state inspection and management of labor protection, territorial scientific and practical centers, in scientific-research institutions, the accident insurance fund and other institutions.
Positions that may be held by graduates – inspectors, labor protection engineers, heads of labor protection departments, deputy directors for production safety, technical director and others. None of the professions provides such a wide range of employment in different industries and in different economic sectors of the country.
Our department has international links (agreements) with universities in Slovakia, the United States, Russia and other countries for students exchange and places of practice.
Our students take part in international and national competitions and conferences. The Department conducts International scientific conference where student can present and publish their theses. Also students together with teachers prepare articles for publication in leading journals in Ukraine and abroad.
The department has international relations (agreements) with universities in Slovakia, Poland and other countries, to train students to exchange and provide places of practice. The training program meets modern international standards of higher education and provides, along with deep fundamental and general technical training:
– enhanced computer training;
– The study of mathematical modeling, optimization of processes, programming languages and Internet-technologies;
– Increased economic training;
– Enhanced socio-humanitarian training (psychology relationships in the team, the basics of personnel management, ethics of business relations, the development of creativity, logic, etc.).
Since the third year, students have the opportunity to study at the military department and get the rank of Lieutenant Stock. After the fourth year, students have the opportunity to get a second degree in law, economic, computer.
Graduates will be able to successfully work in Ukraine at the primary positions of experts on labor protection at industrial enterprises of all forms of ownership, state inspection and management of labor protection, scientific and practical territorial centers, insurance funds against accidents and other institutions.
Posts, that can take graduates are inspectors, engineers for safety, heads of departments of labor protection, deputy director of industrial safety and others.
Such factors as development of public safety management and increasing professional requirements to experts on the prevention of occupational injuries, providing industrial labor protection, as well as the needs of employers (organizations and enterprises of all forms of property) show that these experts will always be demand. Even in today’s difficult economic situation department has already received orders for specialists from state and commercial structures. Therefore, each prospective graduate receives at least several offers of employment.
