History of the department

About Department

The “Welding” department was founded in 2010. The educational programs of the department are aimed at training specialists in the development of welding technologies, strengthening and restoration of machine parts, welding materials with specified properties, mechanical equipment design, diagnostics and forecasting of the reliability and operability of welded structures, certification and quality control in production.

The “Welding” department prepares bachelors and masters under the educational and professional program “Applied Mechanics” in the specialty 131 Applied Mechanics, specialization: “Welding and related processes and technologies”, and also prepares scientific personnel through postgraduate studies in the specialty 132 Materials Science. The “Welding” laboratory is located in a separate educational and production center of NTU “KhPI” and is equipped with modern welding and laboratory equipment, technical teaching aids, including the Internet.

The department employs an experienced teaching staff  with industrial experience: 2 professors, doctors of technical sciences, 3 associate professors, candidates of technical sciences, 1 senior teacher, candidates of technical sciences, 2 doctors of philosophy.
