Motivation is a key factor in the quality of the learning process. It can be significantly enhanced when theoretical knowledge is applied to practical tasks.
On December 5, 2023, students defended their course projects for the course “Design of Modern Boilers and Boiler Plants”. As part of the department’s tradition of game-based project work, the focus was on the modernization of boilers of various types and purposes.
This year, fifth-year students of group E-M523a participated in the business simulation, guided by Associate Professor O.M. Tarasenko.
According to the project “legend,” students represented a design organization tasked with modernizing a boiler plant to reduce natural gas consumption. Based on the data analysis, Mykhailo Polshchykov proposed the optimal reconstruction solution, converting the boiler to operate on a mixture of biogas and natural gas. Active contributions were also made by Illia Zdorov, Yurii Basov, and Viacheslav Pavlov.
The project presentations were attended not only by department faculty but also by guests from various departments and divisions of NTU “KhPI”.
These game-based projects served as a rehearsal for students’ future master’s research work, providing practical experience in engineering design and decision-making.
