Every year, NTU “KhPI” joins the UNESCO global initiative to celebrate the International Day of Light. This year, the event reached a new scale: for the first time, it was held simultaneously offline — at the Kharkiv Scientific Boarding Lyceum “Obdarovanist” (Giftedness) — and online, engaging participants from across Ukraine. The celebration took place on May 16, 2025, bringing together over 200 participants!
At the “Obdarovanist” Lyceum, the most active young researchers and their mentors gathered to explore the fascinating world of light. They studied its properties, observed exciting laser beam demonstrations, took part in lively discussions with young scientists from NTU “KhPI”, and even created their own optical instruments during hands-on experimental workshops.
Teachers from the Department of Thermal Engineering and Energy-Efficient Technologies played an active role in the event — conducting engaging demonstrations, interacting with participants, and promoting modern engineering disciplines among school students.
