On March 30, our 4th and 5th year students visited the Polytech-2018 Job Fair, which took place in the NTU “KPI” sports complex.
The Job Fair is already traditional for the Polytechnic. Students in an informal atmosphere could communicate with representatives of firms and enterprises of the heat engineering profile of Kharkov and Ukraine and gain first-hand what knowledge and skills are necessary for a professional career.
A large-scale holiday for entrants and their parents, which took place on February 25, 2018 in the NTU “KHPI” sports complex, gathered about a thousand guests. Our department traditionally took an active part in the festival of specialties and achievements of our university. As part of a series of scientific and educational lectures, we talked about the concepts of future buildings, the realization of which is impossible without the close interaction of architects, builders and heat-and-power engineers. And in the cultural program the band VL8 (Rock-band) and our graduates Alexey Rozhnov and Denis Ushakov performed. Without heat power there is no life! Be with us!
A huge congratulations to OLENA ZAIETS for successfully defending her final PhD thesis entitled “Hot blast generating systems efficiency improvement via waste gases heat recovery” under the supervision of Prof. Anton Ganzha on Thursday February 22th, 2018!

Ancient philosophers said that you can not enter the same river twice. We now have the opportunity to see this from our own experience: for the winter holidays we left, still being the Power Engineering Faculty, and from February 1 the department became a part of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Energy, Electronics and Electromechanics of NTU “KPI”. The history of Energomash has come to an end. But this is life: something ends – something begins. Let’s see new opportunities, new perspectives, new horizons.
In January, heat power engineering students qualified as “specialists” defended their theses. We congratulate our graduates on this important milestone in their lives and wish them success in their work, career growth, development and prosperity!
Our department took part in the activities within the “Winter Vacations with Polytech”. An interactive lecture “The houses of the future: the heat engineering way to the dream” and the interactive game “1001 kW – find and neutralize” were presented. This lecture was introductory to the “Worlds of Heat Power Engineering” cycle or classes for senior schoolchildren. Look for our classes in the calendar of NTU “KhPI” events – we invite all comers!
Strictly speaking, the first of january is simply a conditional reference point in an infinite flow of time, but this is a great opportunity to revise our life goals and priorities, to outline plans and accomplishments, to expand horizons, to introduce something new into our live. So forward to your dream, and may this year be bright, energetic and creative!
Motivation is one of the components of the quality of the learning process. It can be significantly improved if theoretical knowledge is fixed by solving specific problems taken from real practice. Also, game elements contribute to maintaining a creative atmosphere for optimal solutions searching. Thus, students get a chance to acquire really practical experience in solving specific problems using game design.
The direction dedicated to the energy audit of boiler houses and the modernization of boilers of various types and purposes is traditionally chosen for the winter series of game design at the department. This year the fifth-year students (EM-43 / EM-73 groups) tried their hand at the professional game. Their projects became the general rehearsal of the upcoming master’s studies. The curators of the projects were prof. A. Ganzha, asociate professor L.Zbaraz, senior lecturer A.Tarasenko, ass. V. Podkopay.
An unusual day of open doors took place in the NTU “KHPI” sports complex on November 26, 2017 . It united the maximum number of participants in the history of the event – about one and a half thousand people. The event was held in a new format: the festival’s laboratory and experimental territory. Our department took an active part. The concluding chord of the Open Door Day was a rock concert, which was performed by the VL-8 group, among its participants – our graduates: Alexei Rozhnov and Denis Ushakov. We wish theour graduates success in their professional and creative life. And a hint to the applicants – our department prepares not only real professionals, but but also creative people !
