About the Supervisor. Expert in the field of hydropower engineering and hydraulic machinery with over 15 years of experience. Defended a PhD thesis on “Improving the energy performance of hydroelectric units by enhancing the operating process of new types of hydraulic turbines”. Author of approximately 100 scientific and methodological works, including articles, textbooks, monographs, and patents.

Research Interests and Areas of Expertise. The primary focus of scientific work is on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and the optimization of the flow path of blade hydraulic machines:

  • CFD simulation of spatial flow in hydraulic turbines;
  • Development of new designs for high-head hydroturbines;
  • Application of modern software packages (Ansys CFX, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, etc.) for the analysis of hydrodynamic processes.

 

Proposed PhD Dissertation Topics

Prospective PhD candidates are offered relevant research topics based on modern computer-aided engineering (CAE):

  • Mathematical modeling and optimization of the flow path of horizontal bulb hydroturbines for high heads.
  • Improving the energy efficiency of high-head Francis turbines by refining their working process.
  • Analysis of the influence of intake structural elements on the flow structure in hydroturbines.
