Dates that every Ukrainian would like to forget. But must remember. Dates that remind us of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. This is not just history – this is our reality, which we live every day.
February 24, 2022 Three years of full-scale war. Three years of fighting for freedom, independence, and life. Three years of heroic resistance.
We remember.
How on February 24, 2022, we woke up to the explosions brought by the Russians. The defense of Kyiv, Irpin, Bucha, Vorzel, Hostomel, Chernihiv, Mariupol, Borodyanka, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson… The Kharkiv counteroffensive, which showed our strength and resilience. The sinking of the cruiser “Moskva” – a symbolic blow to the occupier’s fleet. The occupation of Mariupol, which lasted longer than during World War II. How we all together saved Kherson region after the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP. Thousands of volunteers, donations, camouflage nets, bulletproof vests, and helmets that became a shield for our defenders. Millions of people who were forced to leave their homes and seek refuge in other countries. Endless air raid alerts, descents into shelters, fear and hope at the same time. Blackouts across the country, lack of light, heat, water, but not faith in victory. All those temporarily occupied and those who liberated them. Every shoulder offered, every decisive action, every word of support. ALL FALLEN HEROES who gave their lives for the future of Ukraine. Together we rejoiced in successes and lost the dearest. But in sorrow, we raised our heads and continued the fight.
Once people remembered the last bloodshed – World War II. Now we have another memory: 2014, 2022… And the present.
February 26, 2014 Day of Crimean resistance to Russian occupation.
On February 26, 2014, thousands of Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians, and representatives of other nationalities came to the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to declare to the whole world the integrity of Ukraine. The next morning, regular military formations of the Russian Federation entered the government buildings of the ARC. This was the beginning…
Then – the capture of Crimea, Donbas, Luhansk region. Russia began a long and bloody path of aggression, which resulted in a full-scale war.
February 24, 2025 Three years of war… Eleven years of struggle…
Despite painful losses and fatigue, Ukraine continues to fight. Ukrainians have become a nation that does not bow its head before the threat, but only clenches its fists tighter.
This struggle continues throughout the country – our Armed Forces, government structures, volunteers, ordinary citizens are doing everything possible to bring victory closer.
No one believed that Ukraine would stand. But it stood.
We stood. We will win.
Let’s take care of each other and Ukraine. Let’s stick together, support our military, help those in need, and do everything for our victory!
