On October 1, 2025, a binary class was held at the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies of NTU “KhPI” within the academic course “IT Project Management”.
The event was conducted by Marina Hrynchenko, Head of the Department, together with Olena Yehorova, a certified business consultant, project management expert, portfolio manager, and mentor of entrepreneurship and startup development programs.
The purpose of the class was to enhance students’ practical competencies in the field of crisis management and anti-crisis management of IT projects. Special attention was paid to the following issues:
- defining the concepts of “crisis,” “crisis management,” and “anti-crisis management”;
- analyzing the causes of crisis situations in projects;
- examining the five phases of crisis management;
- developing effective communication skills during crisis resolution.

During the class, Olena Yehorova shared her professional experience in managing IT projects, presented real-life business cases, and demonstrated the importance of risk analysis and communication in crisis situations.
Students of groups KN-322a, KN-322v, and KN-323sv took part in the event. They actively engaged in interactive discussions, proposed their own examples of internal and external factors influencing the development of crises in projects, and debated strategies for overcoming them.

The binary format of the class successfully combined an academic approach to IT project management with real business experience, contributing to the development of students’ practical skills in anti-crisis management, teamwork, and systems thinking.
The event became another example of successful cooperation between the department and representatives of the IT industry and an important step in the implementation of practice-oriented training for future computer science professionals.
