On February 22, another educational event dedicated to effective startup project management and successful market entry was held at the StartUP School of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”. The program focused on practical tools that help transform an idea into a viable product and organize teamwork in a dynamic IT environment.
This time, the participants were students from Kropyvnytskyi, who had the opportunity not only to learn the theoretical foundations of agile methodologies but also to experience being part of a real development team.
The event speaker was Maryna Hrynchenko, Head of the Department of Management in Information Technologies at NTU “KhPI.”
The session was conducted in the format of an interactive simulation game that modeled a real project environment. This approach allowed participants to gain a deeper understanding of Scrum principles, as instead of a traditional lecture, they were immediately immersed in the process.

Participants worked in sprints, assigned roles, created a project backlog, planned tasks, and presented the results of each iteration. Time constraints required quick decision-making, effective communication, and clear coordination.
During the game, the teams faced challenges typical for startups: task prioritization, adaptation to change, and responsibility for results.
The event demonstrated that agile methodologies are not just a set of tools, but above all a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility. Participants gained hands-on teamwork experience, developed communication skills, and saw how an iterative approach helps gradually improve a product.

The StartUP School of NTU “KhPI” continues to create a space for youth development by combining modern project management approaches with interactive learning formats. Such events not only expand participants’ knowledge but also foster entrepreneurial thinking, initiative, and readiness to work in a team.
New topics, new practical cases, and new opportunities for future IT industry leaders lie ahead.
