During the spring break period, lecturers of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” actively engaged in career guidance activities with students from Kharkiv lyceums. These outreach events became an important step in helping prospective applicants choose their future career paths and learn about the opportunities offered by modern higher education.
Particular attention during the meetings was given to presenting the educational opportunities of the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies. The activities involved the Head of the Department, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Maryna Hrynchenko, and Associate Professor Iryna Shuba.

During the events, lecturers held informative meetings with school students, discussing key aspects of studying in the specialty “Computer Science” and the educational program “Computer Science and IT Project Management.” Students learned about current trends in the IT industry, востребовані competencies in the labor market, and the role of the project-based approach in training future specialists.
Special emphasis was placed on the competitive advantages of studying at the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies at NTU “KhPI,” including:
- a combination of technical and managerial training;
- focus on practical skills and teamwork;
- use of modern agile project management methodologies;
- student participation in real IT projects;
- close cooperation with IT companies and business;
- opportunities for international academic mobility.

School students also received information about the educational process, admission requirements, internship opportunities, and future employment prospects. Particular interest was shown in discussions about career opportunities for graduates and their competitiveness in both the Ukrainian and international labor markets.
The meetings were held in an open and friendly atmosphere. Students actively asked questions and showed interest in study conditions, student life, and opportunities for self-realization at the university. This format of direct communication allowed not only to provide valuable information but also to create a positive perception of studying at NTU “KhPI.”

Such outreach career guidance activities are an important part of cooperation between the university and general secondary education institutions. They help students make informed career choices, increase awareness of modern educational opportunities, and support the development of individual educational trajectories.
NTU “KhPI” plans to further expand its career guidance initiatives, introduce new formats of interaction with school students, and support talented youth on their path to professional development.
