On September 3, 2025, the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies at National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” (NTU “KhPI”) launched the academic course “IT Project Management.”
This educational initiative is being implemented within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation signed between NTU “KhPI” and the Public Organization “Project Management Institute Ukraine.”
The memorandum outlines mutually beneficial collaboration in the development of scientific and project-based research, and focuses on joint efforts to support students’ personal and professional development — particularly by enhancing their career opportunities — along with other areas of cooperation.

First Lecture – Real-World Project Management Practices
The opening lecture was delivered by Andrii Skoromnyi, PhD in Technical Sciences, Delivery Manager at Promova, and Vice President for Academic Affairs at PMI Ukraine Chapter.
During the session, he introduced students to modern approaches in IT project management based on international PMI standards and shared his extensive experience in engineering and information technologies.
Course Goals and Impact
The primary goal of the course is to equip students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in managing IT projects. The curriculum covers:
- the project life cycle,
- key principles of planning, monitoring, and risk management
- the roles and responsibilities within a project team.
The implementation of this course marks a significant step in preparing future professionals capable of efficiently managing innovative projects and contributing to the growth of Ukraine’s digital economy.
