The AI City of the Future: Kropyvnytskyi Stage 2026 hackathon took place in Kropyvnytskyi, bringing together participants to develop innovative solutions for urban development. Over several days of intensive work, teams went through the full development cycle — from idea generation to final project presentations.
Participants worked in teams using the Scrum framework, created prototypes with AI tools, and prepared for public pitching. This format enabled them not only to gain technical skills but also to develop critical thinking, communication, and the ability to work under time constraints.
Special attention was given to teamwork. The second day of the offline stage, held on April 15, focused on organizing work on IT projects using Scrum. The speaker, Maryna Hrynchenko — Head of the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies, PhD, Associate Professor — guided participants through team roles, sprint structure, and approaches to planning and backlog management.
As a result, teams aligned their project visions, distributed responsibilities, and moved on to the practical implementation of their ideas. The presented solutions addressed актуальні urban challenges and demonstrated modern approaches to using technology in city development.
Organizers emphasize that the event was much more than just a hackathon. It served as a platform for gaining real experience in teamwork, decision-making, and public project defense.
The hackathon was implemented with the support of Yevhen Sokol, Rector of NTU “KhPI”, and Ruslan Myhushchenko, First Vice-Rector. A significant contribution to the event was made by the Department of Education of the Kropyvnytskyi City Council and the Interschool Resource Center, which provided comprehensive support and helped ensure the successful implementation of the event.
AI City of the Future in Kropyvnytskyi once again proved that the combination of technology, education, and teamwork creates an environment where ideas capable of shaping the cities of the future are born.
