October 22, 2025. A solemn event on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the founding of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” was held today in a safe space.
The celebration was attended by the city mayor Igor Terekhov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleg Synegubov, representatives of the NAS of Ukraine, the management and teachers of the university, including the head of the law department of NTU “KhPI” Iryna Lysenko, students, and others.
The mayor and head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration thanked the educators for their significant contribution to the development of science and their tireless work during the war.
“The history of Kharkiv and KhPI is interconnected. The walls of the Polytechnic have educated many outstanding scientists. The fact that you shape the engineering thought of Ukraine is an axiom. And thanks to such leading universities as yours, Kharkiv has always been a student city. Our common task now is to preserve this potential, despite the difficulties of wartime. Thank you for shaping the future of our nation in extremely difficult conditions,” the mayor noted.
Igor Terekhov presented the best employees of NTU “KhPI” with badges “For Merit to the Hero City of Ukraine Kharkiv” of the 3rd degree, Gratitude from the Mayor, honorary certificates from the Executive Committee of the City Council, and valuable gifts.
