REDUCTION OF WATER VAPOUR CONSUMPTION AT THE LOW-TEMPERATURE CONVERSION STAGE FROM

There are 18 ammonia production units in operation in Ukraine with a total installed capacity of 6.2 million tonnes of NH3 per year. All units use natural gas as a feedstock. The best energy consumption figures: 10.0 Gcal / t NH3. This is by ~25% more than in the latest foreign units.
The technological mode of low-temperature conversion of CO with water vapour, one of the stages of NH3 production, has been improved. This will save at least 158 kg of water vapour / tonne of NH3 (0.109 Gcal / tonne of NH3) or ~ 3.5 million UAH. UAH/year per unit.
