The department has been cooperating with the State Research and Design Institute of Basic Chemistry (NIOKhim) for several decades. The department’s lecturers are constantly improving their professional level by completing internships at NIOCHEM. The knowledge gained is then used to update lecture courses.
The staff of the department also involves employees of NIOCHEM in the educational process to deepen students’ knowledge of new approaches to solving technological problems, to familiarise them with modern methods and equipment design for chemical production.
A graduate of our department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Volodymyr Oleksiyovych Panasenko, who is currently working as the Head of the Scientific and Technical Department, Scientific Secretary of NIOCHEM, gave lectures and conducted practical classes on soda production to our students, which enabled them to get acquainted with the prospects for the development of this industry in view of the current situation in our country.
Employees of NIOCHEM and scientists of our department conduct joint research, the results of which are presented at various international conferences and in professional publications. A textbook on the production of soda and alumina, co-authored by both teams, is currently being prepared for publication.
As part of their industrial and pre-graduation practice, students are trained at NIOCHEM, which gives them the opportunity to find a job at this research institution.
