On May 27, 2026, a significant event took place at the Department of Chemical Technology of Inorganic Substances, Catalysis and Ecology — the successful defense of Master’s theses. The young specialists presented in-depth research of great practical importance for the development of domestic industry.
Among the presented works, the projects of two master’s students deserve special attention. Ruslan Olehovych Ryabov brilliantly defended his thesis on a highly relevant topic: “Development of liquid complex mineral fertilizers”. In the context of the intensive development of the agricultural sector, creating convenient, safe, and effective liquid fertilizers is absolutely essential. Ruslan Olehovych’s research focuses on optimizing compositions that ensure maximum nutrient absorption by plants and significantly increase crop yields.
An excellent scientific result was also demonstrated by Oleksandr Hennadiiovych Khudakov with his topic: “Restoration of platinum group metal catalyst gauzes and investigation of their performance in the production of non-concentrated nitric acid”. Given the extremely high cost of platinum catalysts, developing methods for their effective restoration is of colossal economic importance. Oleksandr thoroughly investigated the ways to recover these materials, which will significantly optimize production costs and extend the service life of catalytic systems.
The high level of project preparation was made possible by professional mentorship. The supervisor of both works was Associate Professor of the department, Svitlana Ivanivna Avina. Her years of experience, pedagogical skills, and continuous support helped the students fully unlock their scientific potential.
