Our university hosted the 1st All-Ukrainian Festival of Innovations, organized by the “SPARK” Starp Center of NTU “KhPI” with the participation of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Startup Fund, LLC “Science Park of NTU “KhPI” and the Ukrainian Association for the Development of Management and Business Education. Higher education graduates, scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers of higher education institutions, secondary schools, gymnasiums, lyceums and colleges of Ukraine took part in the competition. The main directions of the presented startups were developments for the defense-industrial complex, high-tech industry, energy, food, environmental and cyber security, IT technology, medical and agricultural engineering, as well as transport and logistics infrastructure.

In the finals of the competition, which took place on April 29, 2024, the teams that passed the preliminary selection presented their innovative solutions and achievements. The finalists of the competition were a team of young scientists of the department consisting of Stanislav Ligezin, Svyatoslav Ryabinin, Artem Zakharov and student Danylo Gurovoy under the leadership of prof. Fedorenko O.Yu. The guys presented their “FireDefend” project aimed at creating an innovative intumescent fire-retardant paint based on the synthesis of nanostructured materials and demonstrated the results of development tests.

The use of FireDefend carbon-ceramic fire-resistant paint allows you to prevent the rapid spread of an open fire, localize the fire and increase the time for extinguishing it.
