The material base of the department consists of:
- thermal laboratory;
- thermophysical research laboratories;
- laboratory of electrophysical research;
- derivatographic laboratory;
- X-ray laboratory, etc
All this equipment allows for comprehensive research of raw materials, suspensions, sintered materials, etc.
The department has a unique mineralogical museum.
To carry out research, modern special equipment is used, which is available in the branches of the department – the Ukrainian Research Institute of Refractories named after A.S. Berezhny and the Ukrainian Institute of Ceramicology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Computers are widely used in scientific research. The computer park of the department includes 24 computers, most of which are connected to the university computer network, with the possibility of access to the global Internet computer network.
Every year, the material base is replenished with new, modern equipment for scientific, administrative and educational activities.
Recently, enterprises and organizations of Ukraine have provided charitable assistance to the department in the purchase of computers, repair and adjustment of equipment.
The department will be grateful to those enterprises and organizations that will provide sponsorship aimed at the further development of the material and technical base of the department.
