On November 21, 2024, a round table discussion on the topic “Preparation of Higher Education Applicants in Specialty 161 – Chemical Technologies and Engineering” was held at the National University of Food Technologies, Kyiv (moderator – Associate Professor Olena Podobiy, guarantor of the 161 educational program).
The event brought together program guarantors of this specialty from various universities across Ukraine. Representing our side were Olena FEDORENKO, Head of the Department of Technology of Ceramics, Refractories, Glass, and Enamels, and Viktoriya TARANENKOVA, Professor of the Department. Both are guarantors of master-level educational programs in specialty 161 – Chemical Technologies and Engineering.
Participants discussed changes in educational programs, taking into account the development of individual educational trajectories and the improvement of the higher education process. Additionally, they addressed the introduction of a new list of fields of knowledge and specialties governing the preparation of higher and professional pre-higher education applicants. According to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine’s resolution, our field of knowledge is now categorized under the code G “Engineering, Manufacturing, and Construction”, with the specialty code updated to G1 (0711_ Chemical Engineering and Processes).
The round table also focused on reviewing and discussing changes to Higher Education Standards.
