Master’s Thesis Defense

On May 22, the Department held the defense of master’s theses by students enrolled in the educational and research program (1 year and 9 months).

All three of our master’s students who completed their studies were admitted to the defense and presented their graduation theses.

All the works addressed relevant and important issues for national industry and science and fully met the requirements of the State Examination Commission of NTU “KhPI”.

For example, Ivan Boboshko presented a thesis titled “Technological Approaches to Improving the Quality of Container Glass” (supervisor: Prof. Oksana Borysenko), in which he proposed methods and strategies to solve current problems faced by the Pisky Glassworks (PGP Glassworks, Kyiv region), a manufacturer of high-quality glass containers for the beer, low-alcohol, spirits, wine, non-alcoholic, and canning industries. Ivan currently works as a process engineer at the company.

Vadym Annenkov’s thesis “Wall Construction Materials Based on Magnesia Binder” (supervisor: Prof. Valentyna Taranenkova) focused on the development of new materials for the domestic construction materials market, specifically magnesia-based foam concrete.

Roman Platonovskyi presented a thesis entitled “Modified Magnesia-Carbon Refractories for Lining the Slag Zone of Steel-Teeming Ladles” (supervisor: Prof. Oksana Borysenko). His work was recommended for participation in the NTU “KhPI” competition for the best master’s theses.
