The National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” hosted the International Scientific and Technical Conference “Physicochemical Problems in the Technology of Refractory and Non-Metallic Materials”. This was the fifth edition of the scientific readings dedicated to Academician A.S. Berezhnoi of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. This year, the conference marked the 90th anniversary of the Department of Ceramics, Refractories, Glass, and Enamels Technology.
The goal of the conference was to discuss current challenges and demands of the silicate industry, the development of energy- and resource-saving technologies, the latest trends in silicate technology, and to foster cooperation with leading domestic and international manufacturers.
More than 200 participants from Ukraine and abroad (Germany, Switzerland, France, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, and the Republic of Uzbekistan) took part in the scientific readings.
The conference was opened by NTU “KhPI” Vice-Rector for Academic and Pedagogical Work, Professor Ruslan Mihushchenko, who expressed confidence in the value of such events in promoting science and industry in Ukraine. A welcoming speech was also delivered by the Honorary Rector of KhPI, Professor Leonid Tovazhnianskyi.
Keynote speakers included prominent foreign scientists and industry leaders. Among them were Honorary Professor of NTU “KhPI” and researcher at the Wismar University of Technology, Business and Design, N.F. Lysovykh, and CEO of EMO FRITE d.o.o. (Slovenia), Spolenak Bojan. Renowned Ukrainian experts also actively participated, including V.Z. Annenkov, General Director of PJSC “Greta” (Druzhkivka, Donetsk region), and R.Ye. Belozerskykh, General Director of Malynivka Glass Plant LLC (Malynivka, Kharkiv region).
Based on the conference proceedings, articles were published in the NTU “KhPI” scientific journal Bulletin of NTU “KhPI”, in the section “Chemistry, Chemical Technology, and Ecology”, which is included in the list of professional publications by the State Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory (New Jersey, USA).
