Triumph of the Students of the Department at the All-Ukrainian Student Scientific Work Competition

We congratulate the winners and prize winners of the All-Ukrainian Student Scientific Work Competition of 2019:

We congratulate them on their high achievements and wish them further creative success!

From April 10-12, 2019, the final scientific and practical conference of the second round of the All-Ukrainian Student Scientific Work Competition in the specialty “Chemical Technologies and Engineering” was held at the Ukrainian State Chemical Technology University (UDHTU).

Based on preliminary reviews, 28 student scientific works from leading higher education institutions of Ukraine (III-IV accreditation levels) were admitted to the final conference.

Students from 14 Ukrainian universities participated in the final of the competition, including:

  • National Aviation University

  • National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”

  • National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine (Kyiv)

  • National University “Lviv Polytechnic” (Lviv)

  • National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” (Kharkiv)

  • Dnipro National University named after O. Honchar

  • National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine

  • Ukrainian State Chemical Technology University (Dnipro)

  • Sumy State University (Sumy)

  • Shostka Institute of Sumy State University (Shostka)

  • Cherkasy State Technological University (Cherkasy)

  • Odesa National Polytechnic University (Odesa)

  • East Ukrainian National University named after V. Dal (Severodonetsk)

At the official opening, the head of the competition committee, the rector of the university, D.Sc., Professor Olexandr Andriyovych Pivovarov, addressed the participants with a greeting. He wished the participants inspiration, creative success, and victory to the best one!

As part of the cultural program, a visit to the university museum was held, where the staff shared the university’s history and development.

From our department, the scientific works of students Karina Bilohubkina (scientific supervisor: D.Sc., Prof. O.Y. Fedorenko) and Oksana Buznyk (scientific supervisor: D.Sc., Prof. H.M. Shabanova) were presented at the competition. Bilohubkina’s work was dedicated to the development of radio-transparent ceramic materials based on the BaO-ZnO-Al2O3-SiO2 system for the manufacture of aircraft nose cones. Buznyk’s work focused on the development of white Portland cement compositions using raw materials from Ukraine.

The students presented their research results at a high level. Their reports sparked lively discussions and interest from the competition committee.

On April 11, after lengthy deliberations by the competition committee, the results were announced. The award ceremony for participants, including certificates, honors, and diplomas for the winners, took place in a festive and friendly atmosphere.

The scientific and practical results of their work were highly appreciated by the competition committee, and they were awarded:

  • Karina Bilohubkina – 1st Degree Diploma and Honorary Certificate in the “Relevance of Scientific Work and High Level of Research” category.

  • Oksana Buznyk – 2nd Degree Diploma and Honorary Certificate in the “Practical Value of the Work for the Development of Domestic Production” category.

We sincerely congratulate Karina Bilohubkina and Oksana Buznyk, as well as their scientific supervisors, Prof. O.Y. Fedorenko and Prof. H.M. Shabanova, on this high award and wish them continued creative success!
