Note:
The World Science Day for Peace and Development is celebrated annually on November 10 (established by UNESCO in 2001). Its goal is to emphasize the important role of science for society and human daily life, to engage the public in discussions on emerging scientific issues, and to ensure awareness of scientific achievements. Additionally, the day highlights the role of scientists in understanding our planet and in sustainable social development.

The theme of the 2018 World Science Day for Peace and Development is “Science is a Human Right,” chosen in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Article 27) and the Recommendation on the Status of Scientific Researchers. It serves as a reminder that everyone has the right to participate in scientific activities and benefit from their results.
