On March, 25, 2016 Business Foreign Languages and Translation Department held the XII International Scientific Student Confrernce “Scientific and technical translation: problems and perspectives”.
The lecturers of Business Foreign Languages and Translation Department, 4th and 5th year students of the Department and also the students of Karazin University took part in the conference.
The head of Business Foreign Languages and Translation Department professor A.A.Badan, the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Technologies professor A.V.Kipensky performed the introducing speech.
The following reports werw presrnted at the plenaty meeting:
- Assistant professor J.V.Nedainova: “The concept of modern discourse: translating strategies”
- The 4th year student of Karazin University L.P.Shalyopa: “The peculiarities of translation English cartoons” (Karazin University, the scientific supervisor – assistant professor J.N.Lukyanova)
- The 4th year student of Karazin University D.D.Chepura: “The use of complex transformations in translation of scientific texts” (Karazin University, the scientific supervisor – professor O.V.Rebrii)
- The 5th year student of NTU “KhPI” A.V.Pirog: “The genre chicklit of English literature and the peculiarities of its reproduction in translation into Ukrainian” ( NTU “KhPI”, the scientific supervisor – assistant professor O.M.Golikova)
- The 4th year student of NTU “KhPI” A.V.Dolya: “The peculiarities of translation if business idioms in English economic dicource” ( NTU “KhPI”, the scientific supervisor – assistant professor N.M.Pilgui)
All in all 20 scientific reports were presrnted in 4 sections of the conference.
Tje sections covered the following fields:
- Theoretical and practical issues of translation of business documentation. The translation of terms;
- Theoretical and practical issues of general linguistic field;
- The peculiarities of English-Ukrainian scientific and technical translation;
- Lexical, grammatical, functional and stylictical peculiarities of the English-Ukrainian translation;
About 70 participants took part in the work of the Conference.
