Main Information

The Department of “Electrical Devises” is unique in Ukraine in training specialists in the field of low-voltage electrical apparatus engineering.

The department’s main research interests are related to contact and arc-extinguishing, electromagnetic, and induction-dynamic systems of electrical apparatus, fast-acting fuses, vacuum switching devices of low and medium voltage, as well as the application of microprocessor technology in electrical apparatus, household electrical appliances, and Smart House systems.

Among the variety of research objects, special attention is given to objects in the electric power sector and electrical engineering industry, which are a key part of Ukraine’s infrastructure. To date, 2 doctoral, 4 candidate, and 1 PhD dissertation have been defended within these research areas.

Research Directions

  • Development of designs and components of electrical apparatus and household appliances based on calculations of electromagnetic, electrical, and thermal fields;

  • Design of electrical apparatus for various industries in Ukraine;

  • Development and design of protection systems for electrical circuits of consumers.

Student Scientific Clubs

Modern technical higher education requires students to acquire a large block of theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Improving the quality of education largely depends on student motivation and the use of innovative forms of learning. Student scientific clubs allow students to enhance their professional knowledge, choose a specialization, develop research skills, increase their activity and sense of responsibility, and gain experience in organizational and publication activities. Participants in these clubs may later pursue careers as scientists or lecturers, contributing to the staffing of higher education institutions.

Currently, the department has a 3D Printing Student Scientific Club “Modeling and Printing 3D Objects on a 3D Printer”, where students can deepen their knowledge in this field and gain practical experience. The club supervisor is Assoc. Prof.  GRECHKO Oleksandr Mykhailovych, PhD in Technical Sciences.

More information about the student scientific club can be found here.

Specialized Academic Council

The department serves as the base for the Specialized Academic Council D 64.050.08 – Technical Sciences for defending doctoral dissertations in the specialty:
