About the Department

     Department of “Electrical insulating and cable technique” (EIСT) was founded in 1964 and is the only one in Ukraine in this direction. During its existence the Department has trained more than 3,000 graduates. The department is a part of the electrical energy faculty.
     Branch of the Department is working on the “factory “Pivdenсabel”” where students listen to lectures of experts, practical training, laboratory work is performed in a certified modern laboratory, with unique equipment.
Department «Electrical Insulation and cable technology” trains specialists in specialty “Power, Electrical Engineering and Electrical Mechanic” with a specialization in electrical isolation, cable and fiber-optic technology for industrial, technical, engineering design, scientific research, manufacture and operation of electrical systems, electrical power equipment technology, power and communication cables, fiber optic cables for communication and control in the electricity industry.
     Teaching Process holds three technical sciences doctors, 7 technical sciences candidates, 3 senior lecturers. Modern level of knowledge allows the establishment in the Department of Technical Committee №131 “Electrical insulating and cable technique”, which brings together experts from leading mills association “Ukrelectrocabel” Ministry of Economic Development of Ukraine and is a member of the National Commission of Ukraine for the electrical connection with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Graduate students and doctoral candidates defend their dissertations in 3 specialized councils Technical strong electric and magnetic fields; Devices and methods of control and determination of the composition of substances; Electrical networks and systems.
     Among the graduates of the department directors, chief engineers, leading specialists in the field of creation and operation of electrical equipment and systems of industrial enterprises.
