On March 2, 2024, the Institute of Energy, Electronics and Electromechanics of NTU “KhPI” organized a meeting with future applicants under the name “ENTER FOR THE FUTURE”, where the Department of Electric Transport and Locomotive Engineering took part. The form of the event was chosen unusual – the participants had the opportunity to be present both online and live.
The event consisted of several parts.
The first part was called “Choose a promising specialty”. Here a very interesting speech was made by the director of the EEE Institute, Professor Roman Serhiyovych Tomashevskyi. He explained to those present why it is worth choosing higher education in 2024, how training for a future specialist differs in specialized courses and institutions of higher education. He also justified why it is worth choosing a higher education and, having chosen it, enrolling in our university.
He also spoke about the education of students at the university, namely, that they have the opportunity to choose their own educational trajectory and move on their own chosen path to knowledge in their favorite field. The director also proved to the audience that students of NTU “KhPI” can, if they wish, also study under the DSG:2 double diploma program. During his speech, Roman Serhiyovych also touched on a topic that is now very often discussed in society – online education. In particular, he said that now, when the aggression against Ukraine continues, the dangers of face-to-face education have been introduced for the entire time. But he also emphasized that the educational process is fully provided. The director of the institute, continuing the conversation, briefly introduced the participants to the five specialties of the institute, but noted that there are many more educational programs and invited them to study at the EEE institute.

In the second part, the participants were invited to take part in the kahut-quiz “Technologies that inspire”, where they could, through questions and answers, go deeper into the specialty of the institute to choose them for their future. On the part of the Department of Electric Transport and Locomotive Construction, the quiz was conducted by Associate Professor Liliya Viktorivna Overyanova together with the host.

The third part of the event was devoted to the rules for admission to higher education institutions in 2024. Larisa Vasylivna Shilkova, secretary of the admissions committee, gave a very useful presentation, which revealed the stages of admission, told about the weighting coefficients of the NMT subjects, how to register for the NMT and, finally, when the enrollment will be, if the applicant passes all stages successfully.

At the end of the meeting, offline participants had the opportunity to visit the STEM excursion “Touch Science”, which was organized by the departments of the institute in the bomb shelter of the university. According to the students who attended the excursion, it was interesting, they liked it a lot and received a lot of positive emotions and assured that if there is another similar event, they will definitely take part in it again.
