The department was established in 1995 and teaches full-time and part-time students in Metrology and information-measuring technology. The first recruitment of students to the department was held on September 1, 1995 for the specialty “Instruments and systems of non-destructive control for technical and medical diagnostics”, the curator of which was the first head. department, prof. Sebko V.P.

Graduate students and masters under the guidance of leading teachers of our department constantly participate in international scientific-technical and scientific-practical conferences “Instrument construction: state and prospects” – Kyiv, “Modern devices, materials and technologies for non-destructive control and technical diagnostics of mechanical engineering and oil and gas industry equipment” – Ivano-Frankivsk, “Information technologies: science, technology, technology, education, health” – Kharkiv), exhibitions (“Electrical equipment, energy conservation, energy” – Kharkiv, “Control and measuring devices”, “Electronics, informatics, communication communications”, “Energy, electrical engineering, energy saving” – Kharkiv, “Science of the Kharkiv region-2008”, “Mechanical engineering of the Kharkiv region. Metallurgy- 2008”), symposia, seminars, publish the results of their research works in leading specialized journals of Ukraine, etc. countries

Scientific and research work at the department is constantly developing, contacts of scientific and pedagogical activities are expanding, the educational process is being improved and modernized, the qualification of the teaching staff of the department is increasing in the field of methods and means of non-destructive testing, which makes it possible to decently transfer the accumulated vast experience to future generations of young specialists.
