INSTITUTE OF COMPUTER MODELING, APPLIED PHYSICS AND MATHEMATICS

An engineer, an IT specialist, a scientist? - Whatever you become, it’s your choice - We guarantee that our education will provide the opportunity to make this choice!

Today, the INSTITUTE OF COMPUTER MODELING, APPLIED PHYSICS AND MATHEMATICS is a unique synthesis of deep physical and mathematical training, fundamentals of computer science, advanced information technology and practical engineering skills.

We provide academic university education and directions for its application – a renaissance of the world-famous training system – “physical technique”.

This support was made possible thanks to the initiative of Anatoliy Bilozerov, an NTU «KhPI» alumnus and current Logitech team member, and the direct appeal by Oleksiy Larin, Director of the Institute for Computer Modeling, Applied Physics, and Mathematics (ICM). Together, their cooperation brought this vital project to life at an extremely important time for Ukrainian education.

The received equipment has been distributed among structural units that have a constant need for updating computer peripheral devices. This includes the directorates of the institutes, the educational and methodological departments, accounting, the publishing and editorial department, the central admissions committee, and the apparatus of the Academic Council.

The valuable prizes were received by students from Kharkiv schools No. 168 and No. 18. During the final round, teams who were the first to correctly answer a series of difficult and clever questions crucial to the modern development of electronics and programmable systems received certificates for the Logitech gifts, which were later exchanged for the equipment.

NTU «KhPI» is deeply grateful to Logitech and its alumnus Anatoliy Bilozerov for their support, which not only strengthens the university’s digital infrastructure but also holds special significance in the context of the full-scale war. At a time when Ukraine’s educational institutions operate under constant threats and face resource shortages, the assistance of international partners is a vital contribution to preserving scientific potential and ensuring the continuity of the educational process.

Thank you, Logitech, for helping us overcome challenges, inspire young talent, and build a resilient tomorrow, thank you for being an example of global solidarity during difficult times for Ukraine. Together, we are showing that education persists even in the most challenging conditions, and innovation remains the key to a brighter future.

NTU «KhPI» Thanks Logitech for Empowering Digital Education

In challenging times, true partnerships make all the difference. The National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» (NTU «KhPI») is proud to share how our collaboration with the leading global tech company, Logitech, is helping shape the future of education at our institution! To mark our 140th anniversary, Logitech generously provided NTU «KhPI» with a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment, including mice, keyboards, webcams, and professional video conferencing systems like the Logitech MeetUp and Logitech PTZ Pro System, as a charitable contribution.

The donated equipment is already making a substantial impact! It is actively used in academic defenses, large-scale conferences and events, and the special ceremonial session of the Academic Council marking the university’s 140th anniversary. Logitech’s professional video conferencing systems have transformed how our faculty and students connect, enabling modern communication for both small meetings and large-scale events.

Looking forward, we’re especially proud of how this partnership has inspired the next generation. During the STEM Championship of Kharkiv for high school students, which involved pupils from all districts of the city, Logitech provided modern prizes: gaming mice for the most enthusiastic participants and webcams for their dedicated mentors who nurture future technology leaders.

Partner visit of representatives of Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg

On April 24, 2019 the delegation of professors of the Otto-von-Gericek University of Magdeburg visited the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” (NTU “KhPI”). Professor Holm Altenbach and Professor Kostyantyn Naumenko have successfully supported for a long time academic and student exchanges between our universities. During the meeting with the rector, Prof. Sokol Yevgen I., the parties emphasized the importance and consistency of the cooperation between our universities, noted the progress achieved in recent times, and discussed the prospects of expanding interaction in the future. The representatives of the University of Magdeburg discussed the principled creation of a new dual study program for Ph.D. students at the NTU “KhPI” and the Institute of Mechanics of the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg.

The guests also took part in the scientific seminar, where the assistant professor of the department “Computer Modeling of Processes and Systems” Nikrasova Maria  submitted her candidate’s dissertation. The German delegation visited the department “Dynamics and Strength of Machines”, where the reports of undergraduates of the specialty 122 “Computer Science”, who are applicants for Leonardo Euler scholarship, were heard.

Leaders of engineering outsourcing of Ukraine visited the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”

On April 12, 2019, the representatives of two Ukrainian leaders in engineering outsourcing: the Danish company BIIR and the company “ProgressSteh-Ukraine” visited NTU “KhPI”. The purpose of the visit is negotiations in order to deepen cooperation with NTU “KhPI”, communication with students and lecturers of the institute. In addition, the guests took part in the organization and awarding with the sponsorship prizes the winners of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad on systems of automated design and computer simulation in engineering.

The famous Polish mathematician became the Honorary Doctor of the National Technical University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute

On March, 29  the Scientific Council of the University held a solemn ceremony of awarding the diploma and mantle of the Honorary Doctor of the National Technical University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute to the professor of the Polish Technical University in Lodz, corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Jan Avraisevich. Ukrainian-American pedagogical experiment on the basis of the Institute of Education and Science in Engineering and Physics

On the basis of the Institute of Education and Science in Engineering and Physics of NTU “KhPI” is conducted the pedagogical experiment for the purpose of transformation of engineering education in higher education institution. The idea is realized within the framework of the discipline “Mathematical Statistics” in the format of project study with the involvement of an American specialist. The participants are students of the third year of specialties “Computer Science” and “Applied Mathematics”. At the end of the academic year, they will have to carry out a statistical analysis in a particular field and present reasoned forecasts.

The student of the Institute of Education and Science in Engineering and Physics is the best student designer of Ukraine

Our congratulations to Oleksandr Sidorenko, our student on the victory in the All-Ukrainian Competition “Best Student of Ukraine”. Alexander took 1st place in the nomination “Best Student-Designer”.

“At the competition, I presented a design of the website about sights of Kharkiv, – says Alexander. – I hope that it will be interested for representatives of local authorities who will help me to implement it. I am grateful to my friends and teachers who supported me and enjoyed my victory with me. I associate my future with the chosen specialty, I have been engaged in web-designing at the Kharkiv company PinoFran for two years and now I work as a computer graphics teacher at the center for child development “Confeti”.
