The mission of the department and the concept of training
The department sees its mission in the integrated training of highly qualified specialists in the field of applied mathematics, computer science and modern information technology.
The professional activity of graduates is related to the development of mathematical methods, algorithms and software systems for data analysis, processing and visualization in order to search and extract knowledge and forecasting, creation and processing of large data sets for text, signal and image analysis, decision making, development and support for big data infrastructure and architecture, data management of enterprises in various industries.
The main consumers of graduates are large companies and organizations that implement the practice of collecting and processing large arrays of data, including in external data centers, and are interested in using large accumulated arrays of information for analysis, forecasting, decision making and IT companies – developers of software products for working with big data.
When studying the disciplines of the computer cycle, the emphasis is on the formation of algorithmic thinking, the development of modern technologies for software development and software engineering. Practical skills in the field of design and technology of software systems development and software project management are acquired during the implementation of a number of real complex course work of increasing complexity.
The KMAD department is implementing a pilot project for the development, testing and implementation of an innovative educational system based on project-based learning technologies, inquire learning, peer-to-peer peer learning and gamification of the educational process within World Initiative for Engineering Education Reform CDIO Iinitiative. The project is implemented with the support of the Vasyl Khmelnytsky Foundation.
Graduates of the department work in the following well-known IT companies: Google, Facebook, Amazon, IBM, SamsungElectronics, NixSolutions, Greed Dynamics, GlobalLogic, AltSoft, Clоud Works, Insart, RingLab, SigmaSoftware та ін.
