A virtual tour of the Kharkiv region enterprise, dedicated to familiarizing with advanced laser welding and cutting technologies.
Today, students and teachers of the Department of Materials Science had a unique opportunity to look into the modern production process, where high-precision lasers ensure quality, speed and efficiency of work.
Laser welding and cutting are some of the key innovations that have changed the approach to manufacturing parts and structures in various industries: from automotive to aerospace. These processes are resource-saving and, accordingly, allow to reduce material consumption and maintain environmental friendliness of production while achieving maximum accuracy.
During the excursion, students were able to familiarize themselves with the following issues:
- how laser systems work;
- what parameters affect the quality of welding and cutting;
- how automation and robotics are used to achieve sustainable results.
Students virtually saw real-world examples of the application of these technologies at enterprises, namely, how a powerful laser beam can separate thick metals with perfect precision or firmly connect materials, creating seamless welds. Students also learned about the advantages of this process, such as: minimal deformation of parts, speed of work and the ability to work with different materials. Obtaining such information is an important step towards mastering modern technologies and building a further successful career.
