Brief description of the project(inventions):

This development is designed for research the qualitative state of the membranes of human red blood cells without pretreatment. This process is expected to be carried out in several stages: obtaining an interferogram of blood cells, the restoration of 3D-image, the definition of the parameters of the erythrocyte membrane. The system consists of three parts: optical (obtaining an interferogram of blood cells) electronic (power management LED and laser communication with a PC) and software for analysis of the results using a PC.

  • centers of clinical laboratory diagnostics
  • treatment and rehabilitation centers
  • assessment of the pharmacological action of medications

Project status:

Developed and partially implemented scheme of the optical part, written program for hardware installation, developed and partially implemented an image processing algorithm of interference patterns. Obtained medical data of patients with normal and altered functional state of erythrocytes. Preliminary results were presented at numerous international conferences in Europe, Japan, Latin America and received the support of leading experts.

Implementation period: 10 months

Expected results:

Results of the project will help to accurately diagnose diseases and disorders of various origins in the early stages of their development. As a result, it is planned to obtain:

  • New perspective diagnostic method with the possibility of the introduction into clinical practice.
  • Prototype of a new diagnostic equipment.
