Current scientific activity

In 2023, the competitive selection of projects of scientific works and scientific and technical (experimental) developments of young scientists was extended, the implementation of which will begin in January 2024. As a result of the competitions, a number of new scientific (experimental) works were published, which will be funded by the State Budget of Ukraine.

Dmytro Danylchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Electric Power Transmission, who was the only winner from NTU “KhPI” in 2021 with his project “Research of an intelligent power supply system based on the involvement of active consumers”, presented a list of new scientific prospects of the department.

Scientific topics that were carried out at the Department of PES during 2022-2023 and have prospects for extension in the future:

М3716. State registration number: 0122U001313 “Research of an intelligent power supply system based on the involvement of active consumers” 01.01.2022 – 31.12.2023, supervisor PhD, Associate Professor Danylchenko D.O.

  2. Development of information-analytical system for diagnosing the state of high-voltage power equipment (supervisor – Ph.D., Associate Professor, Shutenko OV)

Scientific School of the Department of Electric Power Transmission

The Department of Electricity Transmission was founded in 1930 by Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine VM Khrushchev. For a long time, scientists of the department held leading positions in the former USSR on grounding and lightning protection of electricity, economic and military facilities.

In 2021 , the department performed 2 economic contract works with the Joint Stock Company “Kharkivoblenergo” and LLC “DTEK” for a total of 110 thousand UAH.

Mathematical models and equipment for surge protection

This area can be considered a modern scientific school of the Department of Electricity Transmission. Head of the Department, Doctor of Technical Sciences Serhiy Shevchenko works extensively on a wide range of issues of lightning protection, surge protection, grounding and electromagnetic compatibility. The proof is the cooperation with the production, economic issues and postgraduate studies prepared by him, who defended their dissertations.

Technical diagnostics of the state of the electric power equipment

After the collapse of the USSR, scientists of the department began a new direction of research – technical diagnostics of electrical equipment.

Currently, the department has made significant progress in this direction. In the framework of research work in the field of “technical diagnostics”, which were performed at the department defended doctoral and master’s theses. In addition, scientists of the department continue research in the traditional areas of the department. So Ph.D. Professor Yu. M. Vepryk developed the principles of mathematical modeling of three-phase electric networks by equations in phase coordinates at the macro level. Ph.D. prof. Dovgalyuk OM works in the direction of optimizing the modes of electrical systems and networks.
