Science

The scientific activity of the department is focused on conducting scientific research, the participation of the department’s teachers in domestic and international scientific conferences and seminars, the training of highly qualified scientists, the involvement of university students and postgraduate students in research activities, and the preparation of monographs.

For several years, the Department of Philosophy of NTU “KhPI” held a scientific seminar, which in 2019 became a national conference, and in 2020 acquired the status of an international conference dedicated to World Philosophy Day – “Philosophy in the Modern World”. Teachers always actively participate in both the organization and holding of the event. PhD students of the Department of Philosophy use the conference as a platform for the approbation of the results of their own research.

Since February 2021, the Department of Philosophy has been regularly holding scientific and practical seminars on philosophical issues, in which scientists from Ukraine and Poland, as well as postgraduate students of the department, including foreign ones (China), participate.

Every three years, the department approves a new joint scientific topic on which both teachers and postgraduate students of the department work. Currently, the new relevant topic, approved in 2022, is “Philosophical Analysis of Human, Nature, and Modern Society,” state registration number № 0122U001562.

Scientific circles operate at the Department of Philosophy, which were created to involve gifted youth in scientific activities, in-depth study and discussion of current problems of philosophy, acquisition of research skills, and the practical application of acquired knowledge. The list of circles includes: “Student Philosophical Circle,” “Scientific Society of Postgraduate and Undergraduate Students.”

In addition, the Department of Philosophy actively participates in the publication of the Bulletin of the National Technical University “KhPI,” series “Actual Problems of the Development of Ukrainian Society,” which is published within the Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Technologies. According to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 1543 dated December 20, 2023, the collection was included in category “B” in philosophy of the “List of Scientific Professional Publications of Ukraine.” Among the members of the editorial board of the Bulletin are professors of the Department of Philosophy: Vladenova I. V., Dolska O. O., and Tararoiev Y. V. PhD students of the department use it to publish their articles in preparation for the defense of their dissertations.
