On May 20, 2025, the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies held a business game titled “Choosing an Approach to Organizational Project Portfolio Management.”
Students of group KN-M524, who are studying at the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies under the educational program “Project Management in the Field of Information Technologies,” participated in the game.
The game was supervised by the Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies — Ihor Volodymyrovych Kononenko.
Project portfolio management is one of the most important management functions in a modern organization (enterprise). The success of achieving the organization’s strategic goals greatly depends on the selected approach to managing the project portfolio.
The goal of the game was to determine the most suitable approach to managing an organization’s project portfolio from a set of alternatives.

To solve this task, the method for selecting a project portfolio management approach proposed in the works of I. V. Kononenko and M. Kpodjedo was used.
The scenario of the game was based on managing the project portfolio of a large IT company, whose name remains confidential.
Associate Professor I. V. Shuba of the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies took part in discussing the results of the game.
Associate Professor A. O. Savchenko from the Department of Physics was also present.
